Kia Ora everyone! We're a couple from Kansas City who moved to New Zealand in December 2008 to take on a big adventure in the southern hemisphere. We'll be sharing our experiences of living, working and traveling in and around this amazing country from our home in Wellington.

The great fishermen
I think Jake made sure his assignment in New Zealand wouldn't start before he could go on the annual December fishing trip with the guys. He's there now, and apparently it's a huge competition. Whoever catches the big one has bragging rights for the year. And apparently it's a pretty dangerous undertaking ... word is that Aaron got a bloody lip yesterday wrestling a fish. (The report was unconfirmed, so he could have just tripped over a tackle box.) Thanks Nick, for sending this photo in from the lake. Hope you guys are having fun!

I've caught fish bigger than that in a puddle after a small rainstorm.
ReplyDeleteGlad Jake got to go on his yearly fishing trip with the boys. Was this fish in the picture a keeper, or did you throw him back in? Mom Deed
ReplyDeleteJake says it's too much work to keep anything, so this lucky 13-incher got thrown back in. :)
ReplyDeleteGood times with the best of friends are the heart of our lives. I know, Jacob, you will treasure this past fishing trip with your friends. Like your other trips, and the stories to be kept and remembered. I'm thankful you had another opportunity, and will look forward to years to come with the fishing trip!!!!
